The African Renaissance Ensemble is completely unfunded. Our musicians are not paid; we do this for the love of the music. We do, however, have considerable overheads including concerts, workshops and training, transport, instrument repairs and sundries, web hosting costs, marketing costs, bank fees, and insurance.
We currently need to raise funds specifically for instrument repairs. The unusual weather has resulted in severe damage to our theorbo and baroque mandolin, and our virginal needs major surgery.
